losing more than 2lbs per week

    here's the situation, i'm about bf 25%
    currently cutting
i am keeping all my strength gains and making improvements
i am seeing that i look more cut and that i am losing fat

but i lost about 3.5 lbs over the last week, and before that was about 2.5-3lbs per week, but my lifts have improved, so i dont *think* i am burning much (if any) muscle

so is it possible that i am maintaining muscle, and is it unhealthy to lose be losing weight at around 3lbs per week?

I'd say you're fine. Losing 10lbs a week is pushing it, but 2-3 is just fine.

*edit* Just saw you're only 156 with 25% BF at 5'7"...thats under 120lbs LBM...

Just eat well, lift well, and don't do any extremes and you'll be fine.

I can't imagine you needing to lose weight considering your current height and weight. You'd be better off eating clean and lifting heavy.I know you think you need to lose pounds, but the name of the game is body fat, not pounds.

Yes, it's very possible and don't look at the 2 lbs as a magic number. If you are getting results that is the most important thing, and your current rate isn't much above 2lbs/week anyway.

i'm not suer if it is 25%, because i dont have calipers, so it was estimated
trust me, i definately have more fat on me than i like
it might not be 25%, but its definately too much for me

Yeah, that looks about 23-25%. I would look into lifting heavy, and some cardio and with your diet, I wouldn't bulk or cut I'd look into recomping.

When you weigh more (300+ pounds) it is safe to lose weight at a faster rate, but you are very light and it is likely you will lose a lot of muscle if you lose too fast.

    thats exactly what i do
apart from my weight, i actually have high numbers on my lifts
bench is only 225 max right now, but squat max is 395 (numbers tested 2 days ago)

i do alot of HIIT, and my diet is set up so i can lose weight
i am doing everything right to lose fat, my goal is to get to about 140lbs, just making sure its at a safe rate

2 lbs is not the magic number,it was based as a safe 1% loss of body weight for a 200 lbs man,
i.e; let ur guidline of fat loss to be 1% of ur weight per week not 2 lbs

If you have a lot of energy and are making strength gains and are losing weight all at the same time, then stick with it.
