    Question Heavy or Light?

I'm a new comer and I was wandering should I lift heavy or light weight if I'm cutting. Obviously if I was bulking I would be lifting heavy with lower reps. As of now I'm lifting moderate weight and doing 3 sets of 12 -15 reps. I'm open to all opinions. (Help)

Are you really lifting heavy if you can do 12 reps? I personally don't think so. To me if you have a hard time pushing 5 reps then that's considered heavy.

I do 3 sets of 20 when doing machine squats at 180 lbs. If you can feel the burn afterward or even the next day you know you're using the right weight.

Well I can do 20 reps of whatever weight and feel a burn.

How many reps is considered heavy? Guess time for me to hit the search and find out.

expirement nobody is the same. I wouldn't consider 12 reps heavy though. i also believe fat loss is more determined by cardio amounts, and nutrition. good luck

True,(on the fat loss point) that's why I throw in 20 minutes of cardio after I lift. If I'm not lifting that day then I up the intensity and time spent during the cardio but never longer than 45 minutes.

Fat loss is more nutrition and diet. weight training combined with cardio is the best bet IMO. Many people say low weight, high reps is best for cutting or lossing weight, but really its all about YOUR body, as said before, everyone is different. a routine that works for me may not work as effciently for you. just got to experiment.

    heavy and light.

work each muscle group twice a week. one session heavy, the other light. follow some of the heavy groups with drop sets to fatigue, and follow the light sessions with pr attempts at one rep maximums. just kidding dont do that last part.

Just get a basic weight training routine: 3 sets or 10 with 30 second rest in between. And eat 2 or 3 meals a day, but I drink more than i eat so that helps lol.
