Creatine while cutting?
If I'm on a lose fat/gain muscle diet and workout regimen, and already taking whey protein isolate (Optimum Whey), is it worth taking creatine to provide me with that extra boost? Any negative side effects you guys have experienced? My family has a history with heart problems and I'm wondering if creatine would be ok to use.

creatine is fine whether bulking or cutting. You might feel bloated and hold onto more water, but thats not really a problem.

Are there any other supplements I should look into? I've got my multi-vitamin and I'm going to get some flaxseed oil later.

Green Tea Extract, EGCG (a natural chemical in green tea) is found to naturally help speed up metabolism and burn fat. It is a healthy fat loss supplement that isn't loaded with all kinds of stimulants or harsh ingredients. It is much more concentrated than just drinking green tea, it also provides extra anti-oxidents which are great for cardiovascular health.
Fish Oil is good too, keep your multi obviously, that is the stack I use. I only use whey after heavy lifting sessions (3 times a week) and I just recently cycled off of Green Mag.

I almost forgot about the fish oils and omegas. What exactly does chromium picolinate do? Also, if any of the supplements contain calories, carbs, whatever, should I factor those out of the 2300 calories I'm eating per day already?
I also heard some people use casein protein instead of regular protein whey. I know it's slow-digesting, but I don't know what benefits it has exactly. Do people usually take one or the other (i.e. I'm taking whey protein right now, should I not bother with casein?) or both at the same time?

Of course,a scoop of whey has 120 calories, how can u neglect that??

People use casein protein pre-workout and before bed,u need a supply of amines during ur 8 hours sleep.

Ok, I should've specified that the 120 calories already includes protein whey, but yeah :P
If my workouts are in the evening, should I just stick with protein whey and not bother with casein if my post-workout shake is already protein whey?

Dont bother about casein supplements at all
You can find casein protein in milk.80% of milk's protein is casein while other 20% is whey, and therefore dairy products are full of casein, another example is cottage cheese, which is eaten before bed with another fat source like peanut butter to slow the digestion more.
and remember diet is 80% of the game, supplements only complete the deficiencies in ur diet,so eat well before considering any supplement.
