Question Digestive Enzymes

I have a question concerning digestive enzymes for fats, carbs, protein, and lactose. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about them. If the powder that is inside the capsule comes in contact with my mouth, would this irritate it? My entire mouth seems to be irritated, sore, and burning since it came in contact with it. My lip is a bit swollen, my tongue has sore spots all over it, along with my throat. It hurts to even drink water or brush my teeth. Will this simply go away if I stop taking them, or is it more complicated to need to seek medical attention? Is there anything in particular I should do about it? I hope someone happens to know a thing or two, thanks!

You may be getting a mild allergic reaction. Digestive enzymes are proteins themselves (lactase, papain, etc). They could contain pinapple or papaya which you may be allergic to.

Well, I just found out that the digestive enzymes contain "Aspergillus" which is a mold used to manufacture penicillin. I am severly allergic to penicillin, and I didn't even know what aspergillius was, they really should have put some kind of note on it for people allergic to penicillin. I saw a doctor before I found that out, and got an antibiotic plus an ointment to use for my mouth. I don't even know if it's gonna do me any good though, I have that feeling. I am constantly feeling nauseated. The mouth sores are still the same, they are just as bad. On top of that, I've been getting cold sweats especially when I try to sleep. I've also had extreme dizziness, but that could be possible from getting off my meds (SSRI, Citalopram.) I don't know if that would have anything to do with the allergic reaction..? Especially the cold sweats?
