why there is no olympic lifting in this section?
i can see pl threads and strongman yet there is no info on olympic lifting...how come? i think that a lot of people would benefit if there would be maybe a official olympic lifting thread stickied here with videos how to perform C&J and snatches corectly...anybody shares my thoughts? (sorry for my english i hope everybody understood)

Yes, it would be nice. Another subsection would be even better. But olympic weightlifting isn't too popular in the states, which affects this forum. Is it popular in Croatia?
I used to know 2 guys from croatia, one would always talk about how croatian women are the best in the world. Funny guys.

Oly isn't popular in the states? Wow...surprises me, I thought it was popular. I like it, and some of my friends, anyway.

of the strength sports strongman and powerlifting is more popular in the states, olympic lifting is far more popular in canada and europe.
this is a great olympic weightlifting forum though:
http://www.fortified-iron.com/forum/...hp?showforum=9
very knowledgeable and strong oly lifters there on Fortified-iron.

I agree with you and my training revolves around oly lifts aswell. I would like to compete one day.
The thing is that there aren't enough people here interested, you see an oly thread like twice a month.

That's great.. I love olympic lifting. I play football for my high school, and 100% of the players think "I like snatches" means "I like pussy". Though that might be true, it's not always what I mean
Whenever I'm out of high school I want to compete in olympic lifting AND powerlifting at atleast the national level.. I do cleans once a week, jerks once a week(we do those seperately), and I snatch on my own.. I'm hovering around 180 right now(but hope to reach 165, maybe even 148 for powerlifting in the spring), and I can clean about 260 lbs(jerk about the same), but I think I can do atleast 20 more lbs if I learn to catch it in a full squat instead of a quarter squat.. I haven't done any real snatches yet, but I'm up to 3 sets of 5 with 135 lbs hang snatching.. I still need to work on technique before I start going very heavy, doing regular snatches.

I saw a guy oly lifting in the gym one time. I was like, "hey man nice reverse hang cleans," and he says, "WTF dude, I'm doing curls." Go figure.
Seriously, I'd love to see an oly section, but I'd love to see some good oly lifters posting there even more.

I can see the potential now. "Hey guys, today I tried snatches for the first time and I did 315 at a bodyweight of 133. Is that good?"
A whole new frontier.

yea thats true but i hope that it doesnt end up to be just that. I hope that the few experienced olympic lifters we have in here would help out and give some knowledge.

Exactly. Why does that happen over and over? Or this one:
"Hey i found out the record for my weight class is 230kg total. I can do 250, but I'm not sure if i want to."
I'll definitely be in if there is a dedicated section.
