When I am not deployed....8 solid hours.
Here in Afghanistan, with all the attacks at night, I would have to say 4 to 5 hours and maybe a nap during the day!

Depends on if I work in the morning. If I do I usually get about 9-10 hours by going to bed at like 9 PM. On days that I don't work, or see my girlfriend, or have to drive my dad to work at 8 (DUI's FTL) I get about 12 hours.

I am not sure but I think I get around 6 - 8 hours on average. The problem is I always get up atleast once a night because of all the water and milk I drink, and this kind of screws up my sleep pattern.

I always try to get 8 if i can. If I have to go more than 3 days or so with less my body starts to feel unrested.

8+ It really does make a big difference with your energy levels which equals better performance. I use to only get 4-5 hours like you UK and I was constantly tired and my workouts suffered. Personally I think 7-8 is all you need, it's just once I'm asleep I hate to get up.

I think you should drink less in the evening. Uninterupted sleep is far more important than being pointlessly over-hydrated during the night...
Personally I get about 4-5 hours straight, then another 4 hours of being mostly awake. I wake up 1-8 times per night. I slept for 6 hours straight once in January, that's the longest I've had for 2 years. It completely rapes recovery, and more noticeably it really ****s on body composition. The worse my sleep is, the fatter and softer I get.

I get about 5-6 solid hours.I work nights at a gym and lift as soon as I get off but as of late I've been having problems sleeping which really bites because I'm not recovering nearly enough as I should with 8 + hours.

5-6 most of the time. i'm sure it'll improve when my 6 month old son gets older, though. around 8 is what i get on weekends, i think that's about perfect for me.

The easy one to drop there is meal prep- if possible spend more money on protein shakes for convenience sake. As soon as I started doing that I didn't feel like I was cooking and eating all day long and you can actually get some things done in a day.

well they say that weighlifters should be getting somewhere around 6-8 hours of sleep, thats when mucsles are able to get bigger, and they also say that a nap in the day is also really good.

I usually average about 4-6 hours a night. When I was in Japan there was a 4 month time period that I averaged about 1-2 hours a night. What's funny is that I was still able to function like that.

I used to get a **** load of sleep.
Now that I'm a little older and have become a Dad I'm lucky to get 8, usually get 6-7.
The ****ty thing is, I get up and use the bathroom 3-4 times now, and I used to not to that when I was younger.
The only saving grace I have is some of the biggest strongest guys I know get **** for sleep.
Sleep is very important, but you can still make gains even if you're not getting 8+ a night.
