A friend of mine followed this program through high school for about 2 years.
3oo situps a day and 200 pushups a day and he is the buffest cuttest thing i have ever seen.
has anyone else experienced results like that?

All he did was sit-ups and push-ups? No sports, or lower body workout?
I was pretty cut and buff before I ever started SERIOUS lifting (back when I was in highschool). Basically I played sports from the age of four, that's about it. As soon as I got to college, and slowed down on the activities, life was VERY different. I gained some baggage. I think it's due to the fact that my metabolism slowed, the older I got. If I didn't lift today, I don't think I'd be a fat slob or anything (I'd still be a fairly skinny person), but I definitely wouldn't be where I'm at today with JUST sit-ups and push-ups.
I think I have great genetics (my Mom is about 5' and 100 lbs, without ever working out; and my Dad is about 5'8" 200 lbs and pretty built, without ever lifting). Every person is different though.
Tell your friend to get into a real lifting program, and then he'll see his real potential.

Herschel Walker never lifted iron in his life. Some people are just phreaks. No other way to explain it. I think it has something to do with their ability to completely ignore lactic buildup in the muscle tissue. Thus they can overload the muscle with light weight. Normal people collapse in pain when trying to do hundreds of those exercises in strict form.

*If you stop growing, increase intensity and increase rest*
Intensity (in-ten'-si-tee):
"1..2..3..4..4-and-a-half..it's not moving..keep pushing for a few seconds..seems like forever..spotter assists..control negative on my own for 6 seconds..pushing..it's not moving at all now..spotter assists..control negative for 5 seconds..negative only held for 4 seconds..trying another one..can't control weight anymore..spotter helps remove weight..set complete."
