    How to maintain muscle size...

What type of lifting (in reference to set/reps) should you do if trying to maintain a muscle? I don't want to get any bigger, and want to focus on getting cut. I know I know....cutting is about diet. I'm just asking for my weight training, what style of lifting do you do to maintain a muscle? Thanks

seeing as how doing regular cardio uses some muscle...do you thinking lifting heavy 3 days per week, combined w/cardio the other 3 will sort of "keep things even?"

If your diet is in order, I'd say yes.

Ideally yes, that's correct. However, some people have bad genetics for hanging onto muscle and lose a little anyway. This is your first time doing it so it will probably happen to you, too. It's just a learning experience.

But again yes, that'd what will happen IDEALLY.

IC I forgot to tell you, you will probably be fine lifting as heavy as possible for a while but once you start becoming really depleted I'd start stopping (lol) just short of failure on your sets. We are trying not to sustain an injury or muscle tear here.

In my experience, when I cut, I lower the weight. Since you're not trying to build, but just maintain, you don't need to overload the muscles drastically. Just that little stimulation will be ok. Also, you're going to notice that when you don't have that many calories in you, your recovery time will increase quite a bit.
