    Question Fats?

What would be an ideal amount of fat grams to get in a 16-1700 calorie cutting diet (non keto)? I'm currently having lots of trouble getting in even 30 grams (15-20%)!! What do you all aim for? What sources?

I'm not cutting as such, more re-comping, but on about the same calories I aim for 50 grams per day. Nuts, avocado, PB, olive oil, whole eggs, salmon, fish oil caps.

I totally understand what you mean. I'm in the same caloric range and I thought fat intake would be the least of my worries. What helps me is planning in advance, so I know for sure where the nutrients are coming from. I eat oatmeal every morning without fail, so I use just a pat of real butter there. Your protein sources will give you a bit of fat as well. If you focus on having a natural protein source at almost every meal, it will help. Remember, nuts, seeds, and dressings have good sources of fats, so if you like salads, use sunflower seeds, olive oil based vinagrettes, etc. This has helped me a lot. Try looking at your diet like a puzzle. Throughout the day as you plan ahead, if you see that you are lacking in the fat area, you can plug in what you need in the meals to come.
