Lentils and/or Soy for Protein
Who is using Lentils and/or Soy as a protein replacement over meat proteins?
I?m not much of a Soy supporter, but never even thought of Lentils as versatile in dieting.
Has anyone used Lentils with success, and what type of meals did you end up with?

I'm an ovo-lacto vegetarian. I eat lentils/beans and use soy protein a lot (I also use whey). I have not had any ill side effects. I love soy products (tofu, tempeh, edamame, soy cheese and soy meat products) and I love using all different kinds of beans. I have no problem getting over 120 gm. protein on most days (esp. gym days).

What is "Good Eats"? ? (no homo) ?
My question came from a new employee who is into weigths, but follows that ovo-lacto format. We knew he was into veggies, but wondered about the soy milk he drank.

I loveee tofu, I can get it so damn cheap at trader joes too, and its GREAT to fill you up without too many calories on a cut!
I can get a big block of it for 99 cents, so I usually gets 7 of those a week.

Me, too! I love tofu, and when I saw that TJ's had it for 99 cents I was estatic.

I am a vegetarian(no fish or poultry) and I have soy, beans and lentils all the time. Great stuff and I have no problem putting on muscle.

I'm a veggie too - soy is awesome, it won't cause any side effects. Some people (these are in the minority) have an intolerance to it, but if this guy has it all day and it doesn't cause any upsets, then let him be.
I get my protein from beans, lentils, tofu, soymilk and nuts. I have tons of energy, and losing fat or gaining muscle is easy.

Your poste is vague and pretty much of no help to any of us.
At my college soy products such as lentils and tofu is among some of the healthiest stuff available to us. Christ last night for dinner (orientation) they have huge pizza calzones, crappy steaks (much to my dissapointment) a decent chicken, broccoli and onion stir fry, and a salad bar w/ a bowl of legumes at the end. I got a decent plate of stiry fry w/ a HUGE salad topped off w/ LOTS of legumes. Doens't get any better than that .
