    Arg - Hurricanes!

I'm finally back. We got hit by Hurricane Frances and had no power for days. Plus, it looks like we need a new roof, along with a few other things. :-(

The worst has been that my gym has been closed and my diet has gone to he** since I had no refrigeration, no way to cook and not a whole lot of say in what I could eat. I know it's only been one week, but somehow I feel as though it's been much longer. I also have the sneaking suspicion that one week's worth of junk diet will take more than one week of clean diet to fix.

My family thinks it's nuts that my main worry -- once the hurricane had passed and we were all safe -- was when/how I could get back to the gym. I dragged out the barbell and dumbbells I had under the bed from when I first started training and the weights were laughably light. So I guess I have made progress.

Anyway, I know I can count on everyone here to help me get back on track. I hope everyone in the southeast is ok!

And please pray that Ivan decides to stay well south of the US.

Relax! You've had enough stress this last week, there's no need to put any extra stress on you by worrying about your diet. Just get back on track now and you'll be fine. If you can't go to the gym and those weights you have feel too light do bodyweight exercises. If pushups are too easy just wear a backpack filled with books. Find a place to do pullups and dips.

Remember, right now the most important thing is that you and your family are safe.

I'm in Palm Beach County. Where are you, Meta?

Kids in our county just went back to school today -- they've been out for 8 days!

Hurricanes suck. I took a direct hit from Andrew and Lily. Good luck with Jeanne.

Ugh, have some friends were hit by all four, at one time or another. A mess.

When Andrew hit, had a Great Aunt who lived in Key Largo back then and was moved to Homestead for safely.

We got the crap knocked out of us by Ivan. My power was out for three days, and I spent two days moving tree limb after tree limb. The winds were gusting over 100 mph....and I was 140 miles from the point of landfall. If another one comes, I heading north.

We got hit by both Frances and Jeanne. We have quite a bit of damage, not to mention that everyone (my kids especially) is pretty well shell shocked from two hurricanes in 3 weeks.

We were slightly south of landfall so we didn't even get the worst of it. I really feel for those folks on the Treasure Coast.

Ouch! Well, you can look at this all this way...and not being facicous. At least working out and building a good muscle base helps here. A good example of why bb and strength building does come in handy

That's true. I had to move two 20-foot Bradford pear tree limbs alone. Hadn't been for those squats and deadlifts, I don't think I could've drag those things uphill to the side of the road.
