going by the hundred stretch marks i have, that doesnt look like one of them. It looks more like a mark you have after doing squats or calf raises with the bar sittin on your traps.
Even if it is theres nothing u can do, they are a curseMy journal http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=5662511

If it's not a stretch mark(which it looks like to me personally) then you might of popped a vesel.

yeah it doesnt look like a stretch mark 2 me iether..and trust me, i as well know a thing or 2 abou stretchmarks hah..
probably something from the positioning or range of motion you use with some kind of equipment or wierd..could even be from a cable rubbing against it doing tricep single handed extensions or something."it would be wicked to be an animal, you would'nt even have to worry about making plans."

And i don't see how a popped blood vessel would make a 3-4inch line.. i would think it would be more like a spot or blob..
thx for the quick replies & ideas though.

I get those too on my traps. Took me a long time to realize where they came from untill i finally realized they always show up after i do shrugs. Weird. Would love to know what causes them.

Hi,
That is an odd mark, the most likely cause is the beginning of a stretch mark.
If you notice it runs right between the two bicep muscles. As you work out the biceps are bulging and the skin is being stretched between the two muscle bundles.
To prevent these marks it helps to take 800 mg. to 1000 mg. of natual V-E liguid capsules per day. This helps from the inside.
Then break open some of the capsules and rub it on the effected area each day.
Your multi-vitamin pack will also prevent your skin from being sensitive to stretching.
This will reduce the stretch marks and perhaps prevent further damage. Once you get them, they are difficult to remove.
Also, I put body oil, extra virgin olive oil and water in a spray bottle and hang it in the shower. I spray this on my skin after each shower to replace the natural oils lost in the shower. It keeps my skin smooth and flexible.
Good luck.Flathead (Ted Post)

i get marks that look very similar on my traps, when I do squats. they are from the rubbing of the bar, check and see if something is rubbing against your arm somehow during your workout

could be burst capilliaries but maybe not as they usually require direct pressure, such as the rough ones I get on my shoulders after standing calf raises.
Doing heavy shrugs could possibly break some capilliaries in the traps, and doing heavy squats definitely will but ive never seen it on biceps before.Last edited by Diab0lic; 08-28-2004 at 03:26 AM.

Those marks are NOT caused by surface contact. They are internal bruising/bleeding ... They appear when you put too much stress or when you add significant weight that your body isn't used to. Let it heal for a day or two and it goes away very quickly with no traces ...
Those happen to me when I do weighted dips (on my shoulders)
They are NOT stretch marks, don't worry! But at the same time I suggest you be careful with your workout and make sure you are not overtraining and doing the form correctly

Those are fabric marks
When you workout your skin sweats and becomes real sensitive. When you squat you put weight on you shoulders and the seam in your shirt cuts in. Same with shurgs except that you may be causing the shirt to become tighter and that can cause the line. Notice how it kind of looks like a scar with stitch holes on each side. Simply the preasure from the stritching in the clothing. I used to get them something bad on my traps. The ones on the biceps are harder to explain but depending on what you wear, it might be the same thing. Sorry about spelling.
Life is good life is great, if the bar ain't bent you need more wieght

I believe that it's called "contact dermatitis". Some lifters have skin that is sensitive to the contact of pads with heavy weight. Like everyone on here has stated, it goes away fast.

I get these with smith machine squat and/or machine calves machine where the pads go on your shoulder. Usually gone after 2 days or so.

I get these things whenever I bench press. I personally think they are popped blood vessels, but don't worry it's not severe. Just give it about 2-3 days to heal and it'll be fine.
