    one rep max calculator for squats

    Are the one rep max calculators accurate when it comes to finding out what the one rep max is for squats, since it doesn't take into account the persons bodyweight.

    There is no formula for figuring out your 1RM. The difference between doing five repetitions of some weight versus doing one repetition of another weight is huge.

    keep loading up the bar with more weight until you reach a weight that you can perform only one rep on squats. then take that number and multiply one times.

    this is dumb you guys are being tools, the man asked a simple question. I would estimate your 1 rep max with 300 punds for 5 reps to be around 375-400 depending on your range of motion. Does that answer your question?

    They are not really being tools. Just pointing out that to figure out a 1RM you need to do a 1RM. If you have a 3 rep squat max you can work out relatively well what the 1RM will be, but a 10 rep max gives a huge margin of error with 1RM.

    OP - what on earth does bodyweight have to do with your 1RM???

    People can estimate it but there is no way to know for sure without testing it.

    That said, I don't 1RM, I just don't see the point.

    I'd say a 300x5 squat would yield, for most people, a 1RM of somewhere around 340-350.

    If someone asks, why don't you just tell them "I haven't tested it, I work out with 300x5"?

    I do ATG Squats in a squat rack the bar is maybe 3" over the sides, if I fail I drop it backwards 3".

    So maybe stop trying to do super heavy quarter squats, or get some friends so they can spot you.
