Anabolic Diet
Do any of you girls follow the anabolic or metabolic diet?!?!?! I have been on it for 4-5 days and haven't really heard a lot about it from a female perspective

Anabolic Diet is just keto with a carbup that's about 30% fat rather than 10% fat. I sort of follow it, but my carbups only last 12 hours rather than a day and a half. It works great, I love the food, and it's definitely helped me recomp. rather than just lose fat.
How many carbs you can eat is sort of a personal thing, but as a general rule you have to stay at 20 or less a day. Your post WO dex/glucose doesn't count towards that total, I usually take in about 15 g post WO.

Yea it is almost like KETO. I am probably only going to do a 12-24 hour max carb up as well. When you carb load do you eat healthy carbs or do you pig out? I'm trying to tell myself I wont pig out butttttttttt who knows what could happen once I got those amazing carbs in my face!
I am trying to lower body fat. About 18% right now. I am a little worried that taking in all this fat is going to make me fat (but I know I must get out of this mind-set!) The anabolic diet talks all about the fat myths.
PS. I know this may be kinda gross but.... Does anyone have green urine from this?!?!?! Could be from ketosis could be from my supplements!

:-O Never had green urine! It does smell different on keto, sort of chickeny (yes weird) but never green hehe :-)
I've done really clean carbloads and really dirty ones, I can't say I notice a difference. Lately I've been doing them moderately dirty, and just sort of estimating my calories. I have been alternating between waiting 2 weeks and waiting 1 week. Also, since I'm doing a recomp., my goals are a little different and I'm not as concerned with just losing body fat as I am losing body fat while building as much muscle as I can. I donno what I'm at...I can see shoulder striations and more definition in my quads and "abs" (don't *really* have them yet lol). I was at 20% a couple months ago, so I'm probably around 18-19 now, in the same boat as you. Don't be surprised if you don't lose any weight, I didn't, and I gained some a few months ago hehe, muscle :-)

well first there is awesome awesome info in the keto thread.
as long as the fat isnt coupled with an adequate amount of carbs, your body will be using the fat for E.
i know it is hard to get out of the mind set. but it sure is fun eating keto. haha.
as for the green urine. prob most def suppplements,
is it cloudy or clear?
if it isnt completely clear DRINK MORE WATER
water is very imp as you know  especially in keto as this diet dehydrates you
do you have keto strips

Yea I would really like to add muscle as well as lose fat! So we do have similiar goals :-) I feel like I have tried basically EVERYTHING to get rid of stubborn fat and nothing seems to work. I was extremely low calorie for about 6-7 months starting last summer and I think my body may be trying to recover from starvation mode. I admit consistency has not been my thing. Also, on the anabolic diet it talks about carbing up every 6th day! Seems like a lot for trying to lose fat, don't you think? As for your dirty vs clean carb ups I'm BEYOND happy you didnt notice a difference between eating clean and dirty!! Ahhhh. OH! one last question... Do you eat more calories being keto compared to say a diet that includes carbs?? Thanks for your input, and the recipes (I found them in the keto logs)!

Have you used ketosis or an anabolic type diet to lose fat?? If so did you have substantial results with it? I see we are the same height and weight and you DEF look better than I do!!!! Inspiration at it's finest.
As for the water, I know I could def include more water in my diet for the whole urine problem. Most of the time it is clear with a little lime green tint (SORRY!!!!) And no I did not buy any ketostix yet. I think they are available at my local pharmacy

yea i tried keto for awhile. but since fat has more calories my portions were to small and i was hungry way more. also id get the carb cravings really bad. but i think i will try it again when i am not in a strict contest prep and dont have to worry about calories. because i really liked the food and the results were there.
i did the keto diet where you have carbs b4 and after a workout, no carb up on the weekend. its called TKD. this helped me get the E i needed to push harder in the gym.
you can get keto stix at any pharmacy. wholesale places are prob the cheapest. they are about $6-7. i got them at costco
yes prob the supps for sure. but def always try to have a water bottle with you. more water you drink less hungry you will be as well. because alot of the time ppl often mistake hunger pains for dehydration
