Average arm size for 18 year old?

5'10" to be exact. After about 4 months of BB I wanna see how I compare to others my age. By average arm size I mean, the average arm size for your average population, FLEXED and NOT pumped.

I'd say 13 or maybe less. 13 inches is the average for an adult who doesn't lift at 5'9.

LOL @ people who said 16 over above. You have to be kidding me. This is the average person, you know, not anyone who lifts. I don't care who you are or what your genetics are. Your arms can't be 16 at that height if you never lifted in your life. Unless you're fat, of course, in which case we're going for the AVERAGE, and that means the number out of EVERYONE, skinny, fat, or muscular. I'd say 13. Maybe 14. 15 and above could be pushing it, and 16 is just plain crazy, unless they were 6'9 or something.

That's BS because I am 6'3" and have been lifting for 6-months now and my bicep is about 13.5".

How old are you? Besides, you think 6 months is enough to get a very big size increase?!?!? It said AVERAGE. It means that if they were to take people who had big and small arms, and then add them up and then divide them by the number of the people in the count, they would come up with 13. It doesn't mean that everyone is 13, it's just an estimate and average.

Thanks for the replies so far guys, the results have given me pretty good confidence. I used to be your typical ectomorph starcraft asian geek, I still see myself in the mirror as too skinny but at least I know I'm at least average now.

my arms are about 17 or 18 inches and im 197lbs. dont know how good that is but hope it helps u 2 compare.

No. Do you even know what average means? You add up all the skinny people, fat people, and everybody else of the same height to get the measurement. You are right that the average person has above average bodyfat, but this doesn't mean that they're going to be huge. You can have high bodyfat and still be skinny (by skinny I mean small arms, legs, chest, just no muscular definition whatsoever and a gut). Still, if you look around, even the high bodyfat people (a high percentage of Americans) don't have large arms. You also have to realize that this is still a teenager. Teenagers have faster metabolisms and burn more fat than adults, so don't expect a higher percentage of teenagers to be fatter than adults. That, and there's both skinny people and fat people (I am disregarding bodyfat percentage), so they take the measurements of them both. Trust me, not everyone in the US is huge. A high percentage of people have alot of bodyfat, but it doesn't mean jack **** when it comes to arm measurements. There's alot of skinny people too.

Would it be that the average 6 foot 3 person would have a less average arm size to a person who is 5 foot 10?
Becuase then the taller person would have to eat more since they are so tall?

Rodity, I agree with you in that the average man has about a 13'' arm. That was the ''average joe'' measurement given in a men's health magazine. The average 18-year-old male I would think would have an arm measurement a little below that, because the 13'' average arm measurement corresponded with a 5'9'' 180 pound man, and of course more 18-year-olds tend to be skinny than older guys. Then again, more 18-year-olds tend to work out / exercise and play sports which would offset that factor somewhat, but still, the average for an 18-year-old guy is less than 13''. I don't agree with you saying someone of that height can't have 16'' arms without lifting, though. Extreme mesomorphs, while relatively rare, can be pretty big naturally ...

Asking here probably wont get the answer your looking for. Here, we all lift (in theory lol). So the average person would be less. I personally am 14.5" right and 14" left, but i have no clue what i was when i started last year. Maybe 13"ers? No clue dude

Depends on weight. 18 years old 450lbs they'll have bigger arms than 18 years old 120lbs. Yeah the big guy will have a lot of fat over his muscles but I guarantee they are bigger than the smaller guy's arms.

That being said, once you start lifting you will never be satisfied with your arm size anyway. Mine are 17 cold (Yay for being short!) and I still feel like I'm tiny. Sad thing is, since you live in your own body and see yourself daily you will never really know you've grown untill someone tells you or you take pictures to compare with the same lighting, pose, angle etc.

Focus less on arm size, more on overall mass. Your arms will be proportionate to your body as you grow no matter what, so just get as big as fuking possible all over and be happy until the pump wears off lol.
