contraceptive pill and lipo 6 or green bulge..

Hi I just figured today that one of these supplements (am on both) may be messing with my contraceptive pill (levlen ED). a few weeks ago I started getting cramps when i shouldnt have and got a light period for a week or so. I put it down to me being late with pills and being slack. (we use condoms so contraception not an issue!)
I got bad with eating for a few weeks and stop taking supplements, and staring on them again yesterday. This morning I wok up with terrible period pain (havent stopped taking pills, was late with one but still within the 12 hours).
Am I right to think it may have something to do with it? I didnt relate the two the first time because I knew I had been stuffing up my pill a bit, but now Im not sure? Have taken pain relief and no supps today, feel better, no period yet, if it comes I might start to worry a bit?
anyone had similar??

Well you can have break through bleeding on the pill if you do not take it at the exact same time everyday.
It can also be caused by stress or change in environment/activity/diet etc.

Depending on the amount of hormones your pill is mixed with, missing or being late with taking a pill can make your period start. Sounds like its low dosage pill to me. I would recommend going to your gyno and switching to a higher hormone level or just getting his/her advice on the topic. (But ideally missing one should not bring your period.)

It is pretty common to switch around a few times to find a pill that is suitable for your needs and body.
I tried 3-4 different ones to make sure Ortho was the best choice for me and it was. For eg: Ortho LO was too low for me, and my body hated it.

hi

thanks for that but unfortunately dont think that is the case. I have been on this same pill for 6 years and its very high dosage. I get my period after missing two in a row.
Ah well I will keep experimenting. Havent actually got my period just had the pains so no idea whats up with that.
Will go back on the supps in a couple of days and see if it happens again.

That's weird Emma. I'm on Seasonale and I've been taking Lipo 6 a while. I haven't noticed anything amiss and I'm usually one to have a problem if there's any potential for a problem (which is why I'm on Seasonale). But this is one of those things that different for everyone and just because I haven't noticed anything like that, or if you haven't had problems before but all of a sudden you do, it doesn't mean there's not a connection. That's what's so frustrating. That stinks too, I know.

BTW, I don't know anything about green bulge. Maybe, since I'm doing two of the three things you're doing with no problems, that would be the first suspect? But, again, it may or may not mean anything at all - comparing my experience to yours in this situation could very well be apples to oranges. Sorry, that's not much help.
