Presentation Round?
What is the deal with it? Is there two posing routines in a contest, one with music and one without? I am entering my first contest in 2 months, and I thought I knew how they went (relaxed round, mandatory round, then routine...). But, I was on the NPC website and saw a individual posing round without music. Could anyone please clerify this for me?

Not to familiar with the NPC but it is probably where they call you out individually and have you hit poses that they request. I think the IFBB does that 2.

Ill explain it here, but feel free to email me if you have more questions......
even though NPC/IFBB are "kinda the same", here's how it would be if youre doing an NPC show (I know cause I judge NPC)...
Prejudging...
1. youll come out with your class and do quarter turns, then...
2. one by one, each competitor will come back on stage alone for 60 seconds and pose to "house music" that the dj is playing softly in the background. Show the judges your best stuff, nice and slow...and smile!!! it isnt surgery up there!!!!! lol
3. Youll come back on stage with the whole class and and go through the compulsory poses with each quarter turn. You may be switched around by the head judge so that all of the panel can compare you to everyone else...
4. you walk off stage and youre done until finals a few hrs later.. good luck!!!

Dave thanks a lot. Just two questions: Does that mean that I will have to do two routines, one 60 sec and one 90? If so, are you suppose to prepare for this or just sorta "free pose"?

Hey bro what's up. I compete in the NPC and here how the posing goes. First, They will have you do 1/4 turns (front, right, back, right). This is called the symentry round. Then after that the symentry round comes the comparsion round. In this round they will call out poses they want you to perform. Usually goes in this order. Front double bicep, side chest, side tricep, double back bicep, lat spread and leg and abs. After they get done with these poses, the judges will start moving you around with other contestants to compare you then they'll usually call out some more poses for you to perform. After they get done with this, you will do 60 seconds of posing to their music. After these three rounds have been completed, they will tell you to come back at night. When you come back at night you will come out with your class. After you come out with your class, you'll return backstage and they will have you come out one by one and have you pose for 90 seconds. After this rounds is completed, they will call the top 5 out and give trophies to this group but be prepared because the judges might have you do some more comparsion posing. If this is the case, after this is completed, they will have you go backstage and call out the top 3. Hope this helps.

A great help man, thanks a lot. But, what if the music they give me is complete crap? All that work for crap, that round sucks huh.

Yeah the 60 second posing is to their music. Just hope they pick something decent. If not , just go out and concentrate on your posing. The good thing is that at the night show you get pose to your own music. 90 seconds of posing.
