    heals!!!

my figure show is in 6 weeks and things are going good as far as diet and lifting/cardio are concerned. now it's time to shop! i have a pair of 6 inch clear arcrylic stilettos with a platform base. i am over 5'5'' and have long legs that tend to look skinny in the calves when i wear these heals. i like that the shoes add length, but they make my lower leg look out of proportion compered to my thighs. i was wondering about judges preference. i am trying to build my calves as much as possible. would a 5 inch be a better choice? what do most fit gals go for? i have been to many shows and i don't know about the judging panel but i think the girls hoofing around in 7 inch teasers look ridiculous!

i read that monica brant (my idol) got points knocked off at a contest for wearing too high of a platform...any advice!?!

    thanx in advance

    heels

I dont wear the big heels...I wear 1/2 inch platform with 4 1/2 inch heels..my shoes may not be as big as the other girls but I can jump rope in those bad boys!! My feet dont hurt AT ALL, and I feel totally confident in myself when walking. I orderd mine for 25.00 from either snaz75.com or electriqueboutique.com (cant remember which one) Anyway..hope that helps.

    lean,

double-check the rules of the contests you are doing too. some won't allow anything over 5" with no more than 1" platform. i just don't want you to decide on something and end up in trouble with one of your shows.

oh my god...i spelled "heels" wrong for the world to see! and to think i was the spelling bee champ in 6th grade...i tell ya, it's the carbs, it is all the carbs fault...or lack of them arhmps, i checked those two sites. thanx so much. wow, i have never seen so many shoes...that is really bad considering i have a shoe fetish. the electrique one has so many options and is just what i need. prices are reasonable as well.

rg-how tall are you going? you are like 5'2'' or there abouts...i am almost 5'6''. i will be in the tall class but i will probably be like the shortest one.

    thanx for the advice ladies!!

i'm going to be in the short class. i'm 5' 1-1/2", so I like to round up to that 5'2" mark i'm going to wear a pair of 5" heels that have a 1" platform. they're pretty comfortable. the funny thing is that you think of stilettos as making you so much taller, but i'm about your height with them on. most people don't even notice the height of my heel!!! but, when i take them off, everyone is surprised to see how short i am i really don't think i would be comfortable in anything higher. too much pressure on my calves and i have a tendency to cramp in my calves. i don't want something like that to happen in the middle of a show. it wouldn't be pretty!!!!

Remember-if you are in a class where you will be on the short end of the other competitors, then you want to appear taller as the judges will be drawn to you as you give the apperarance of being taller .My heel was a 5" I think. Anything over thatI think looks a bit strange. For local shows, they shouldn't have any stipulations, but I would check the rules or email them. Also, whatever shoe really compliments you would work. I chose a higher heel soI would appear taller and more lean. I got mine online for 35.00. do a search on platform heels. You can always check out Triangles on Scottsdale Rd & McDowell?- not too far from Tempe

I`m curious about the heigth discussion. I don`t mean to change the thread but would putting your hair up a little give you a heigth advantage? I don`t mean a beehive hairdo but wonder about hairstyles and how that might help. TIA
