Finally, this democrat used his young face, intellect and charisma to put a fresh spin on the old, basic democrat principles. It's about time the dems start taking elections seriously.

Also, it was a very great speech that was delivered well. It's quite possible, that after about twenty or soyears, a whole generation of Americans have passed and a new generation of Americans have replaced them, that he can make a bid for president and be the first non-white male to be one.

It was on CSPAN in the morning and probably will repeated again. But nobody watches that channel as it has substance behind the flashy titles, and contains significant information about legislation, white house activities and supreme court decisions.

Lol. I used to leave my bedroom tv on c-span when I'd get on the computer and for like 6 hours of the day they would just leave a camera rolling in an empty senate room.

Just based on a speech, huh? I'll bet that you could get a hollywood actor up there to make a speach twice as impassioned as his that would bring tears to the audience. Would you vote for him too?

Obama, if you researched anything about him is more liberal than Kerry and Edwards combined.

And another thing. As he said he was able to grow up and succeed under Democratic leadership. That would be 24 yrs Republican and only 18 yrs Democratic, so it seems he did pretty well under Republican leadership as well.

Many people have followed Obama's entire political career, and this speech just clinched his reputation for a great politician. This wasn't his first appearance you know, there are politics outside of Bush and the white house...

I'm downloading it now but I saw about 30 seconds of it on the Daily Show I think. Just from that little snippet you can tell he's about twice as smart as Bush. Yes, you CAN tell he's smart just from one speech or even part of it.

if you didn't know that Obama's mother was white, would you think he was biracial? i don't think so. throughout US history, biracial people with white and black heritage were disowned by their white relatives. it didn't matter how light the person was, it didn't matter how much "black blood" the person had running through their veins. most black/white biracial people choose to be called "black" because their black relatives didn't ****ing treat them like second class people, like their white ones. don't hand me that PC ****. go read a ****ing history book, tool.
