Carb Cycling

Hi girls!

I was wondering if you count your calories still when carb cycling. I read an article (on BB.com) where the guy talks about not even worrying about crunching numbers and instead to eat as much as you want basically (on high days). I feel as though this is silly! I have always counted my calories and on my high carb days I am scared to over-eat carbs even though he makes it sound like "you are allowed to" (this is only for 3 out of my 5 meals even on a high day that you eat starchy carbs) I stick to about 1500-1800 calories usually. PLEASE HELP!!!!

I hear ya...Make sure you are getting healthy fats at each meal on the no-carb days, PB, nuts, oils, eggs (with yolks), that helps to fill me up good. Oh! and TOONNNS of green veggies. I'm enjoying it so far though, I eat a little differently each day now which is a nice change from 40/30/30 all the time.

Question

What is carb cycling? How does it work? It sounds interesting - I'd love to know more.

Interesting

I've read that too about the higher fat on the low carb days but my nutritionist has gone in the opposite direction.

My low carb days are 68 grams and my highs are 110. I'm not starving at all by the time day four comes around (last carb day). I'm wondering if there's something wrong here. My fat stays at a constant 23.2 grams daily, high and low days, protein between 199 and 203 grams.

Hmmm. I am certainly no expert, but I dont know if 110 grams of carbs would be considered 'high'. The way I figured it was that your protein stays pretty much the same everyday and that you fluctuate the carbs and fat on a daily basis. That is, if you are eating the same # of cals/day. Then, you would alternate between No/Lo/High carb days based on your training schedule.

I posted a word doc a few weeks ago with P/C/F ratio's/cals for carb cycling as outlined by HalleluYAH. That might help out maybe.

Check out this thread also, it has lots of good info:
