skull crusher...aka...lying tricep extentions.....i read that these cause demage to your elbows
flat bench press- alot of people in my gym have shoulder problems and they all reckon as a result of of these, but to be fair to the excercize most of these poeple work in the 3-5 rep range.

any exercise can be dangerous if you dont have good form..some like the behind the neck press, are just naturally going to mess up your joints or something... most problems with exercises are just because of bad form or something easily correctable

Exercises to avoid.
Upright rows, power cleans, smith machine exercises can be depending on your body's compatibility to it.
Unfortunately, many sports conditioning programs(football) require their people to do power cleans)

Almost everything has potential downsides. Hell, you could get a many injuries from doing perfect BenchPressing all the time.
It all boils down too:
1.) Are the risks worth it?
2.) Do you know what you're doing?
EX: if you do 20sets of bench a week.... you've got to give your upper back just as many sets. Or an injury is likely,etc....

Military presses and lat pulldowns behind the head are stressful on the shoulder joint, and have the POTENTIAL to cause damage.
Poor form on leg extensions, by letting your lower back round, can cause serious lumbar spine injury.
Similarly, a poor squat technique with poor lumbar control can lead to horrific results.
Many exercises are harmful if the technique is poor - straight leg deadlifts for example, and hyperextensions on the roman chair.
Other exercises are dangerous if you have problems with flexibility and/or weakness.
Of course, any strengthening exercise can be dangerous because you are working the tissues to some sort of limit, and can lose control of the weight - and they are usually hard and can be damn heavy!!The science is out there!
