    Lift While Sore?

I started lifting again. It is my third day, and I alternated the muscle groups on the different days.

    The question is:

Should I lift while muscles are still sore? I usually use a two-round routine, group A muscles day one, group B muscles day two, and then start over.

The group I lifted two days ago is so sore! Naturally.

Should I wait or can I lift them again?

    thanks

this is something i think varies between people. I would definately not lift while sore but a good friend of mine does it and says hes fine. Lifting while sore to me is risking over training and injury, you need to give your muscles time to recover, but if u are one of those people with god-like genetics such as my friend I guess you can try go right ahead.

I suggest making a new sort of training program, right know i do
    back/shoulders
    chest/abs
    arms
    legs
Monday - Thursday rest of week is relax/cardio if i feel fat lol
just mix and match muscles together and play around with it to see what works best for u

if u like ur program then best thing to do is 2 days on and then 1 day off or of cardio until u get used to lifting again

I never workout the same muscle until the soreness is gone. Being sore means your muscles are healing so working them out will just reverse that. Plus i think i read something about scar tissue growing over the muscle after ripping it up so much.

Also i wouldnt consider this "overtraining" just under resting big difference.

since its only your third time lifting i wouldnt worry too much just keep pushing and after probably a week you wont be sore like that unless you dont lift for a while and then get back on its like when you just start running if you first come out and run 2 miles the next day you will be crazy sore then run 2 more miles and you will be even sorer but after doing it constant for 4 or 5 days you wont be sore after your run anymore. also, i dont really like group a b lifting because you are supposed to give your muscles at least two days recovery after a lift. i like doing a week of lifts like this and the first muslce group i lift harder for that day and do more exercises i like this because most exercises for these groups work both groups
    mon- chest/shoulders
    tues- arms/upper back
    wed- legs/lower back/abs
    thurs- shoulders/chest
    frid- back/arms
    sat- abs/legs/lower back
sun- cardio/light abs and general conditioning

    just food for thought
pain is just weakness leaving the body
