    Question Bicep stretchmarks, am I going all wrong?

    I'm including a pic of one of my biceps. I've been working out for 8 months now, and I (unknowingly) overtrained my biceps. I've cut down to hitting them once a week, but have I already done too much damage?

    I don't know how much you can see, but I have stretch lines not only on the armpit, but all along the bicep even up along the top of the bi. Is this decent progress, am I already screwed? Besides working them less as I am now, what else can I do?

    lol, u can't do anything about stretchmarks, it's just a sign of good progress. My stretchmarks are disgusting, i put make up on them before i go out.

    Some people say you can use salt water or something like that, but i reckon they are there to stay. Getting a tan might help disguise them.

    I have heard

    that vitamin e helps if start treatment before they go into the faded stage. Dunno if its true, but might be worth a shot

    Wink Thanks...

    Yeah, a female trainer saw me doing shoulder press when she walked by, and my sleaves were down. She politely pointed out that it was because my diet was wrong... i guess thats where the Vit E would work?

    Anyway, no I don't juice... I do work out my arms and chest more than anything because I lost a lot of weight last year (55lbs) so I looked a bit deflated. For the arms I did overtrain by doing bi's 3x a week and the chest 1 or 2x a week, thus hitting my bi's almost 5 days a week. I'd do tons of hammer curls and preacher's, and at the end I did a Henry Rollins lifting tip:

    He says at the end of each workout he would bang out 50 reps of curls, no matter how many sets it took.

    I'd do 60 lb preachers and start and get to about 20-25 reps. Then I'd watch a clock for 1 minute and bang out another 10 or so, another minute, then maybe 3 or 4, etc. until 50. It killed the next day, and I guess it worked for me.



    Well anyway, I guess the good thing is that the stretchmarks are somewhat in a cool place like my bi's, and thankfully not on my ass or something

    um banging out all those curls will definately make you feel it.. but not in a good way. ita from all the lactic acid buildup, and its called overtraining. And why the hell are you acting like you messed up training ur biceps? THeey look like they're bursting out! thats good, stretch marks means you are getting really big. rub some vitamin e cream and stretch out before you work out

    YOU CANNOT GET RID OF STRETCH MARKS PERIOD UNLESS YOU STOP LIFTING AND LET YOUR BODY GO BACK TO THE WAY IT WAS BEFORE. JUST LIKE WOMEN THAT HAVE BABIES, THEY HAVE STRETCH MARKS AFTER, IT IS VERY HARD FOR HER TO LOSE THE WEIGHT AFTER, SO YO U WILL SEE THE STRETCH MARKS.

    My friend has strechmarks all over him. On his forearms going down the biceps, down to the chest, even on his sides and his legs (even though he doesn't do legs!)
    Sometimes you can't do anything with them besides using vitamin E and tanning like above posted. But try to get to them before they get bad, and good nutrition always helps the skin!

    Exclamation No Cure

    There's no sure fire cure for stretch marks, you can adjust your diet and apply creams, but they will eventually go away with time. So, tan, eat right, vitamin e the hell out of your skin, but in the end, it's just a waiting game.

    Unhappy

    The only place on my body that I have stretch marks is my ass! I got like 2 or 3 of them on each cheek, they are thin purple lines that are 1/2 to 11/2 inches in length. I have a nice ass other than these stretch marks, lol. What is vitamin e cream, where can I get it, and does it really work? Thanks.

    Tried coco-butter.. Didn't work.

    Only thing I've found to really make a difference in appearance of the stretch mark is Mederma. Pricey but ACTUALLY WORKS. Wont eliminate but truly helps the mark to start to blend in a lot better...

    I have them really bad on my biceps too, and underneith on the triceps, the best thing to do is buy vitamin-e pills (the liquid capsules) and break them open and rub that on the stretch marks. Getting a tan also helps

    OP, I've been having this problem. I went from 260 lbs of pure flubber to 170 and had serious stretchmarks (this was about 1 1/2 years ago), about 95% of them disappeared probably due to my new diet. After I stuck to 170 for a couple months I started bulk training, and my muscles have inflated WAY faster than I thought they would, and the stretch marks came back but WORSE.

    I had seriously nasty marks on my inner thighs, biceps, near my lats and at the top of my pelvic line. I can tell you that after about 4 months of cocoa butter and some vitamin E tablets that they're hard to see anymore unless you get really close, and they seem to be fading progressively. It works man, give it a shot.
