Rate of Losing Weight

For about a month I have been eating 500 calories less than what I require, meaning that I should lose approx 6-8 lbs. After each week I roughly weighed the same (approx 6'1 162 lbs). Then one day I suddenly weighed 156 lbs. I have been at that weight for over 3 weeks now. So is it possible that you can lose all of the weight at once rather than gradually?

Its not just as simple as subtracting enough calories a day so that you mathematically lose 2lb a week. You have most likely hit a plateau. Im not sure but i dont think you can lose that much weight in one go, most ive lost is 3.5lb in a week.

If your 8-9% body fat you shouldn't really want to be going any lower. At that level you should have clearly defined abbs. Try putting on some muscle.
