mutli-vitamins with Iron
What if any is the draw back of Iron in a vitamin. Most of what I read list for a man to go with a vitamin that has no Iron.

I have 2 multi-vitamins, 1 with Iron, and 1 without.
90% of All men get adequate amounts of Iron, and most men don't take multi-vitamins, so usually we get enough iron from sources liek Beef.
Though If u are Pumping Iron an hour a day, it is essential that u have adequate Iron intake. Your needs should be met if u consume beef regularly.
Bodybuilders,Powerlifters etc need more than then the RDA< so if u are a weightlifting, intaking iron through beef is a good source, if u don't eat beef, than iron in a multi-vit are good.

Thanks for the info. You say you have on with and one without. Do you alternat them based on workout days and rest days, or do you take both at the same time?

yeah, before and After extreme workouts having a multi-with iron doesn't hurt, though plant based iron is best for iron inside mutli-vitamins. Iron Collects in the body if not used. So most days i don't take a multi with iron.
Also Vitamin C boosts the potency of Iron kind of.
If u take large doeses of Vitamin C it increases absortion of iron...according to Drs. Michael and Mary Dan Eades in the book "Protein Power".
Also, lets say u eat mainly Chicken breast, well chicken breast is very high in arsenic, but taking large does of Vitamin C(at least 2000 mg a day) will neutralize the arsenic, but boost iron.
Also if u are worried that u have to much iron, Than just bleed, or donate blood. If u have to little, take large doses of Vitamin C and or take a mutli with iron, or eat iron rich foods like beef.

I like to alternate 1 bottle with iron followed by one without. I tend to have borderline iron levels, even with a ton of beef,so I use a bit more iron. IMO alternating on workout/rest days is a great idea.

I rarely eat red meat (once every 2 month), and work out reglarly (3 weightlifiting/week sessions followed by cardio). I have one cup of coffee or green tea a day (I was told they interfere with iron absorption).
I take an iron-free multi/day abnd 500 mg of C.
I have chicken and tuna , but no beef...
So, should I have an multi with some iron?
