    Meal with just protein and no carbs= no muscle growth?

    I just had a meal consisting of mainly protein, but a lot of it. if i dont include carbs and fat in every meal, am i missing out on a lot of muscle growth?

    At every meal? no, thats silly... if you don't have carbs and fat in your daily diet, then yes.

    One meal like that isn't going to have any significant effect on you lol BUT...

    If what you mean is could you be doing this (high protein, no carbs, no fat) as your daily diet, of course it will hinder muscle growth.

    Your body will just use the amino acids from your dietary protein and muscle for glucose via gluconeogenesis, your androgenic hormones will be suffering with lack of fat, I doubt you'd have very much energy at all, amongst so many other negative things.

    Take-home message: Don't have a daily diet of high protein/no carbs or fat. As far as one meal goes, don't worry about it.

    if a protein only meal fits into your macro intake for the day, then it is going to help u.

    for example, lets say u aim to take in 300g carbs, 250g protein, and 80g fat daily. its dinner time and u've already had 275 carbs, 65g fat and only 180g protein....the thing to do here would be to have a few carbs (like 20-25), a few fats if any, and probably like 35-40g protein....

    now lets say after this meal, your carbs are up to 295 or so, your fats are up to about 70g and your protein is up to 210g. sooo....now its time for your last meal of the day, your bedtime meal. here you're goal should be to get 40g protein, a little carbs, and about 10g fat. this would complete your macros.

    just try to space it out enough so your not taking in like 50 or 60+ protein in one sitting without any other nutrients. the protein will have trouble absorbing into your system
