Just got back from IPA Worlds... Gene Rychlak entered as a Bench Only lifter, and did the following lifts:
890
936
965 (WR)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He had more than 965 than him, don't expect this record to last very long

Thing is, mendy hasnt even done 900 in a meet yet (I dont think?) his training is above rychlak's but he hasnt brought it together like gene does on meet day. Anyway, gene's 936 took all of about 2 seconds from chest to lockout, and his 965 he struggled for about 1 second to lockout one of his arms (possibly both, it was hard to see from where I was), then held it at lockout for a few seconds before the rack call was given. He really looks like he has 1000 down.
PS: Seeing an almost 400 lb man first eat an 80 calorie pudding cup, then 1 hour later eating 18 pieces of chicken with biscuits in one sitting, was hilarious. gene is a funny guy even if he's not trying to be.

how the f$%k does the bench surpass the deadlift. I think powerlifters need to focus more on training the deadlift. I wanna see the deadlift reach 1100
