This may sound stupid but I always hear a fitness comp. refering to there off season diet and routine and ther on season routine. Wouldnt' you keep the same routine year round?

I would say yes, but the terms off and on season is more applicable to people that compete. They would bulk, or not train as much, off-season, and stay lean on-season.
