Took the bike out for the first time the other day. It was about 50 degrees so I had to dress up a bit lol, but it felt good to air her out for the first time in months. Can't wait til spring.

Yep, I think hardtails LOOK cool, but with most of the folded over riding positions, I can imagine the chiropractic bills mounting quickly

Most guys i know who have expensive ones (few) don't ride them much

Check out this review on WebBikeWorld:

    http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcyc...elerant-boots/

I have a pair of Icon Tarmac boots and I love them. They are very comfortable to walk around in. They feel just like sneakers. I assume some of the same qualities exist in the Accelerant boots.

Who else loves riding at night? being going for a ride or two at 12am after i get home from work and just cruise the streets. Quiet as, but then you have to dodge dumbass cyclists that think the riding down the wrong side of the road then the wrong way thru a round about is a smart idea...

I like riding at night simply because it's easier to see other vehicles, but the only thing I don't like is that I live in a semi-rural area, so there are LOTS of deer. You always have to look out for the eye reflection in the woods when you're riding.

can anyone tell me how i can get the rear wheel off the ground without one of those stands? My CBR doesnt have spools on the swingarms...

would sticking a bottle jack under right side and lifting it just enough to have the wheel spinning be a smart idea? having a look on youtube and theres a few products that are essentially the same kinda deal as sticking a jack under there... and putting a chunk of rubber between the jack and the swingarm so no scratches or slipping?

i dunno. i was all keen for one of those stands till i actually had a look at my bike and found i couldnt use one /facepalm

I believe they make swingarm stands that can be used on motorcycles without spools.

yea i have one, works good

easier with a person to help you get it up but you can do it yourself if you kind of wedge one of the the wheels of the stand with your shoe

i tested out my theory and found that the jacks that i have dont get close enough to the swingarm to even touch it. so ill have to get one of those stands i suppose hey? lol

I always put some hardened bolts in my swingarm where the spools would go. I also worked as a motorcycle mechanic for 2 years and lifted a lot of customers bikes that way too. It always worked good as long I used a good bolt.

would sticking a bottle jack under right side and lifting it just enough to have the wheel spinning be a smart idea? having a look on youtube and theres a few products that are essentially the same kinda deal as sticking a jack under there... and putting a chunk of rubber between the jack and the swingarm so no scratches or slipping?

i dunno. i was all keen for one of those stands till i actually had a look at my bike and found i couldnt use one /facepalm
Just buy the spools and stand..Itll cost you a lot less then the repairs to the bike when it falls off your rigged up setup

yeah ive ordered a stand for a bike without spools. hopefully it arrives before the weekend.

my bike needs a bit of minor stuff done to it. i really want to clean the grease crap off the chain that only seems to be going everywhere and replace it with an oil instead. plus i noticed the nut in my kickstand was only half on, went to tighten in and there wasnt any thread on it at all haha something else to add to the 'to do list'

Nice man! Hope the bike works out for you. Stay safe bro.

Anyway, any of you guys here have problems with rusty chains? I don't know a lot about bikes but the chain on my Ninja is rusty as fuk. Should I oil it or grease it or something?
