My parents wont let me get protein powder cos they say, " You don't know what quality it is, you don't know what it is, you don't know what is in it, etc etc."
I know for example that whey protein is from the ultra-filtration derived from milk flitered in the cheese making process, Dnno how else to tell them they are good quality etc. Any ideas?

The same could be said for 90 percent of the food out there - even fresh veggies and fruit could contain pesticides or E. Coli. Try explaning to me the actual content and quality of food you get from any restaraunt.
What do they think is in protein power anyway, shards of glass? Millions of people consume protein powder every day.
Perhaps your parents are using this as an excuse for something else, beccuase I can't imagine someone being so uninformed in this day and age.Last edited by Heatmiser; 05-31-2007 at 03:29 AM.

If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up.
Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or walk around it.
You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience by which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, "I lived though this horror. I can take the

Here is what you do:
1) get steaks
1b) *optional* cook steaks
2) puree steaks in front of parents
3) drink steaks in front of parents (if they are like my mom they should be disgusted)
If at this point you manage to get a "meat moustache", proceed to step 4. If not repeat step 3 while allowing a little to dribble out the side of your mouth and down your neck before continuing to step 4.
4) repeat steps 1-3 untll they give in

OK now I understand. Genes are made up of amino acids, but that is irrelevant. technically yes, the animals could be gmo's, but i doubt it. Animals are much more expensive to genetically modify, and they do not reproduce as fast. i also think we would hear about it on the news. so far the only thing i know is they are trying to engineer pigs with healthier fats.
