Shoulder popping on front lateral raises

whenever i do front lateral raises... i always get sort of a popping feeling in my shoulder... to be more specific, it feels like a ligament or something sliding across a hump of the bone, kind of snapping into place back and forth, it's not at all painful, usually happens at the same exact angle (just a little over 45 degrees coming up) and usually my left shoulder more than my right... like i said, it's completely painless and I just tend to ignore it and never had any serious problems or pains from the past 4 months of training. Just to add, I always stretch before and after exercises

oh and one more thing, the same thing happens with or without weight, just the movement alone (though i guess i feel it more with weights)

just looking for some advice? maybe someone who has the same thing happen to them?

Have either of you tried moving the elbow through a slightly different plane (not directly in front or to the side, maybe ~45ish) or changing how the arm is rotated in the socket?

It is a tendon going over the bone, once in a while is ok but if you don't change a little it will become a problem after a while of friction. If your using a hammer grip I would change to a pronating grip, that could take the snap out of it.

Also - try stretching the shoulder joint via broomstick stretches etc.
Bodybuilding is 60% training and 50% diet. Yes that adds up to 110%, because that's what you should be giving it. Change the inside, and the physique will follow.

My shoulder has popped like that for decades, especially on the lat raises machine...and I always have momentary pain "catch" when it does. It will also pop when I mimic that motion with no weight. However, I can stop the popping simply by exerting a small amount of pressure over the joint with my other hand. I was glad at least to see that someone says it's a tendon popping over a bony prominence. It would be nice to get rid of the pain and I can tell everyone, even a 30-day run of diclofenac doesn't render that motion painless. Surgery is my absolute last option especially since shoulder joint surgery is not an overly successful operation.

Yep, I have the same problem, bro. Each pop includes a painful sensation. Not fun. I have not figured out what the problem is yet even after over 25 years in the gym.

Best Staple warm-up as shoulders are indirectly hit in almost every upper body exercise.

I guess it is pretty common because mine does the exact same thing. Its good to know that other people have had it happening for 25 years with no more serious problems coming up.

I'm confused. Are you talking about raises in front of your body or beside your body? Lateral mean side of your body, front means front. Perhaps you're talking about a 45 degree angle raise?

If you're speaking of front raises (directly in front of you), then I'd just can the move. It's isolating a muscle that's already getting more emphasis than almost any other muscle via compounds.

Give what I said a shot and I bet you it will help if not completely fix the clicking. 2 months in I have yet to have shoulder clicking or pain.
