    deadlifts twice a week

So I've been doing deadlifts twice a week (monday friday), but my brother who lifts alot more than me just recently told me I should be doing deadlifts at most once a week. Is there any truth to this or can I continue doing deadlifts twice a week?

I do them twice a week (every other week). As long as you're recovering properly, there's no need to stop doing them twice weekly.

personally, I started at 2-3 times a week...as the weight got heavier, recovery time dictated reducing that until now I am only doing them once per week.

If you're still progressing and not seeing any recovery issues with 2X per week then that's fine, stick with it as long as you can.

When I first started I was only doing them once a week because they straight up raped my manlet body.

Now though I can do then 2 times a week without getting overtrained.

Glad I didn't listen to anyone here.

I did them 3x a week starting out. I was making progress so I kept going. When gains began to slow down, as they always do, I trained them once a week.

The 'truth' is you should train as frequently as you possibly are able while still being able to make consistent progress. This applies to just about everything in weight training.

Eventually, you're likely to reach a point (due to increaded loads over time) where your progress from Deadlifting twice a week will slow/stall. This would be the right time to drop back to once-per-week Pulls. Further down the road, you may even eventually hit a snag where Deadlifting once per week produces no gains. An option here would be to then reduce your frequency even further, to Deadlifting every other week.

Of course, all this is tied in with what else your routine includes, how good your nutrition is kept up, and how much sleep/rest you're getting when you're not training.
    No brain, no gain.

"The fitness and nutrition world is a breeding ground for obsessive-compulsive behavior. The irony is that many of the things people worry about have no impact on results either way, and therefore aren't worth an ounce of concern."--Alan Aragon
