A Weird Draining Feeling In My Back

Right above my left shoulder blade, I get an extremely strange "draining" feeling, in that muscle region, when I do a front deadlift. It feels as if water is dripping down that side of my back, and then the muscle proceeds to feel like a hollow area.

This only happens when I front deadlift, and only hurts a little. If I do keep going, it's quite painful.

I don't need to lift heavy at all for it to happen either.

Granted I am doing the front deadlift correctly, I was wondering if anyone knows...
  • What this is
  • What, in particular, is aggravating it
  • If I should prevent it
  • How I should prevent it
  • If I should prevent it, what are my limitations
  • What resources can I read about this
  • Any other information I should know

Thanks.

Sounds like your aggravating a nerve in the area, either directly or as a result of compression on the spine. Usually numbness, tingling, is an indicator of this. Your form should be perfect obviously, but you may want to hold off on the deadlifts for now - I'd post this in the ask a chiro thread for his opinion.
