When Training other body parts What should you do with your ABS???? Technique
When training your body lets say you're curling for biceps, what do you do with your ABS should you relax them, vacumn your stomach or tense so they distend?
Strange question but I am trying all different ideas. Anyone got the answer and this goes for all exercises - WHAT DO YOU DO WITH YOUR ABS?? I used curling as an example
Thank you in advance for sharing your knowledge

I always tighten my abs up, regardless of what exercise I'm performing. It helps strengthen them, and lowers the risk of back injuries!
I can't imagine vacuuming them during any exercise, I imagine you'd get a few odd looks in the gym.

Brace with your abdominals. By bracing, think as if you were about to get punched in the stomach. This will give you good stability.

Good question! Your abs are part of your core muscles so tense them to help stablize your body.
This is why you should never work abs and core muscles before training other body parts, work them last...

Thank you to you all. This is something that has troubled me for sometime, probably because I find it easy to concentrate on the movement of the exercise and forget what the rest of my body is doing.
Thanks

Tensing or flexing them during a movement is great, but don't forget to breathe!
Someone above said tense like you are going to get punched, that's about it really. Keeping the core stable is paramount to all movements.
