Anti-aging supplements
Do any of you over 35ers take any imported anti-aging supplements or "smart drugs"?
Procaine (Gh3)?
Deprenyl?
Etc. Etc.
If so, are you pleased with the results? What are the results? Do you find them cost effective?
Thanks

I've tried those you mention and several others. I continued to age. The only anti-aging item I've ever heard of that worked was a gas that Jack Kevorian uses on subjects. Carbon Monoxide. The subjects quit aging permanently.

Thanks for the replies!
What exactly is the (GHR 15)?
My interest in these compounds is mostly for performance, however the anti-aging thing is starting to appeal to me as well. (I am 38)
Again...thanks for the replies.

What kind of performance? Endurance, short burst strength, reflex trigered strength like in contact sports or sex?

I am talking about performance in my bodybuilding:
Strength, endurance, recuperation, and muscle gain.
Also, If I thought there were compounds that would give me more energy for my normal business day and leave me some left over for training..I certainly would be willing to give them a try.

From your profile your only 37. Are you experiencing problems in all these areas? Or are you looking for steroidal typical results?

bghtn,
welcome! First of all, so we can better help you, give us some more info. You said you were 38, what kinds a shape are you in? Body Fat %? How long you been lifting?
Most of what you are looking for you can have without any supps if you are in good shape.
If you are looking to lose weight and/or increase energy, an ECA stack can help.

ojs,
Have you tried any of them?

I am 38, been lifting since age 13. 5 feet 7, 176 lbs at about 11% BF.
I have tried just about everything natural on the market. I was only wondering if anyone has tried these compounds. I am not having any problems with my training, energy, or recuperation that is not normal for someone my age.
I am always looking for the extra edge. I am not looking for steroid like effects. (I tried steroids back when steroids were available that were made in America)
I have read many seemingly interesting articles here www.ceri.com
booger_dee answered my question from a anti-aging standpoint. I was wondering if anyone has tried any of these compounds for performance.
Hope that clears it up.
Thanks again for all of the replies.

Yep! That clears it up
From reading your post you sounded like someone who wanted that super pill that would make you fit and young again. Obviously this is not the case, this was also why I ask for more info. Wish I could help you but you are over my head, not much info I could share I am sure you don't already know. Good Luck
P.S. If you do find that extra edge, please share.

About 4yrs ago my hormones had dropped so low I was in clinical depression suffering from a very poor state of mind and numerous connective tissue issues. On the recomendation of someone I respect I called Youth Tech anti-aging clinic owned by a retired pro bodybuilder that grew up around here in one of our small local gyms. I went through the whole thing; full blood panel etc, etc. They put me on a basic stack (expensive) of Genotropin and a mild testosterone cream (all clinical dosages). They also put me on a rest/sleep and diet protocoal all of which I stuck to for 9 months. Within two months I was a different person. Fully motivated, great attitude, aches and pains disapeard and my blood panel improved impressively. A few months later I saw a some grey hairs start to get dark roots. They recomended I join a gym. And toward the end I did.
This is what sparked my interest in hormone manipulation. The stack was way to expesive to continue and I didn't want to buy anything black market. I have never been able to reporduce the effects fully. But adding the weight training and the intelligent dieting was the best thing I could have done. For a moment(9 months) I understood why old rich guys pay the big bucks. So unless your looking for steroids. Good luck. There is no magic pill.

hormones
bghtn,
bb.com
http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/med/androcheck.html
check your levels of
- testosterone
- DHEA
- estrogen
(bb.com is not the only but the cheapest possibility to test it)
I don't think you need that stuff... your age..
good luck!

The AndroCheck kit is OK if your financially restricted. And it can't check for free testosterone. The test is very inacurate. There are over 30 important markers in aging issues. AndroCheck only tests a few. It gives you no idea what part of your body chemistry is falling behind or causing a declining state of well being.
A typical anti-aging blood panel tests your main aging related markers:
Free Testosterone (total testosterone varies with race so its irrelevant. free test is what you care about.)
DHEA-Sulfate Serum (testosterone inclined DHEA faction)
Pregnenolone (availability of testosterone capable material)
Somatomedin C (most important marker for an aged recovery system)
TSH
Free T3
Prostate specific antigen
Dihydrotestosterone (Never take adro if this is high without some kind of 5-alpha reductase inhibitor)
Serum Glucose
Serum BUN
Serum Creatine
BUN to Creatine ratio
Cholestorol
Triglycerides
HDL
LDL
VLDL
Cholestorol to HDL ratio
etc, etc, etc.
The point is there is no way that a 4 or 5 marker test can replace a full anti-aging panel. It can't give you a true snapshot of the current state of your aging related body chemistry. A good Physcian or Homeopath can look at a panel like this and produce a no bul**** no guessing supplement list.

although its possible to supplement your hormones to make you fell young again, there is no scientific evidence or proof what so ever that it can reverse aging. once your old you can't go back to being young, though the only way to prevent and slow wrinckes is to stay out of the sun and use facial creams that help. also the rate you age can depend on sun exposure, physical condition and if you smoke e.c.t, you will age alot quicker than normal. For example, look at Chuck norris at age 63 looks very fit and young, he was done all the right things to achieve this.
its a good idea to start hormone replacement therapy in your late 30's around 37 sounds reasonable
the more famous you get, its very important to keep your ego as low as possible.

Hey, bghtn - GHR15 is a growth hormone replacement product that supposedly helps your pituitary to produce more of your own natural igf1. I have been researching this product for quite some time and have found nothing wrong or questionable about it. The guy who is really pushing it is the pres. of the anti aging society. It was supposedly developed by doctors around 1997 and was only given to their respective patients until testing was complete. The company that makes (markets) the stuff is LTA MEDIA. ************ also has some good info on the stuff. It is simply an amino acid blend coupled with an anti pituitary compound, no prohormones, steroids or any of that crap. I started a thread on this board but no one knew anything about it, (but now I do). I am waiting on my first shipment.
Think about what you say before you say it, think about what you do before you do it.
