    help with possible hst routine?

currently doing max-ot, but after I finish in 2 or 3 weeks i'll be starting my second hst cycle to keep things different. unlike last time, i'd like to use no direct isolation work so i'm having slight difficulty planning a routine. I only have access to a bench and 300lb olympic set for now, so no ability to do exercises like dips or chins.

I think squats and deads in one workout might be too much, but I also want to keep my lower back hit pretty hard so my strength on deads won't dissipate quickly...how would powercleans and sldl's be as a compromise? In theory that should be similar to combining a front squat and dead, plus the sldl's would hit my hams.

    so far i'm thinking:

    powerclean
    sldl
    flat bench
    bent bb row
    military press
    ab work
    cg bench?

not sure about the close grip, but I figured since triceps are a much larger group than biceps it would be a good idea to throw in an extra compound that would hit them as well.

I don't know if doing cleans will have as great as an effect on your legs as squats would. I don't think your deadlift strength would go down any if you just did squat and sldl. I'd also replace cg bench with skull crushers, since you'd be hitting your chest twice. It could look something like this:

    Squat
    SLDL
    Bench Press
    Bent Rows
    Military Press
    Ab Work

Pretty much my routine minus calf raise, shrugs, and curls.

the problem is sldl's don't hit my back nearly as hard as regular deads or even powercleans would. i'd have to depend on what is basically meant as a hamstring exercise and the use of lower back in the rows so i'm not sure if it would be enough or not.

    anyone know?

maybe take out your military press,
and hit your shoulders, traps, and lower back with clean and press. that is what i am thinking of doing on my routine. maybe you can then do machine rows, and lat pulldowns.

I was thinking about that too, but I haven't done clean and press in a loooong time so i'm not sure if i'd be able to do enough weight to stimulate growth or not. I can do seated rows, but have no access to a pulldown machine unfortunately.
