14 yearold starting powerlifting....
I am 14 and a frosh and this week powerlifting starts.I am looking to gain more strength than anything being only able to bench 150 which has went down since the end of summer.What are some main things I should do to gain as much as possible.O yea powerlifting is 4 days a week(monday,tuesday,thursday,friday)and after school.Also what is a good estimate of my results from this say for 8 weeks?Thanks

your strength on your bench should ideally increase 5 pounds per week.

O yea forgot to mention.Since this is a extracuricular activity I still have to do offseason.In which we lift 3 times a week(monday,wensday,friday)I think.This is in the morning though at around 8 and powerlifting at 3:25.Is this to much for my body to handle?Thanks again.

Don't know,
Depends on intensity, genetics, etc.
5lbs sounds like a lot. If you're a beginner, you'll make gains like that.

Well I have lifted weights.This summer pretty much the same routine.4 times a week.I did not gain much because I lost alot of body fat from eating less and running,but now I don't have to worry about needing to lose weight being lean.So I consider myself a beginner.

yeah, 5lbs is a lot. I find running really affects my gains. Even just a mile a day. I jog once in awhile just to keep fit but that's it.

My gains in 2 months of powerlifting last winter:
Bench: 105 to 190
Squat: 95 to 250
Dead: 225 to 300

When ya get older get a bench shirt,knee wraps,squat suit, and a good belt. Those make it awsome. The shirt adds like 30lbs to your bench, the squat suit and knee wraps add about 100lbs to your squat, and the suit about 15lbs to your dead. They are great to use in competitions. Yes, I know most of ya will biach me out for that but look at competitive power lifting everyone uses em.

WTFs a bench shirt? I dont use anything when I lift, i dont think there is a need for it.

haha yea like todd said. i don't use anythang. gibbs don't think bout that anytime soon. you need to work raw for years before you think bout suits. they help out alot but it takes the fun outta liftin. i think its cheatin
