I've used about 5 or 6 online and my BMR has been calculated ranging from 2300 to about 2700 calories per day...Should I just go with an average and pick 2500 as the number, or do you guys have an opinion as to a certain calculator that has proven to be most accurate?

It is an equation, you just manually insert your numbers into the equation (probably best worked out on paper w/ assistance of an actual calculator) and you should come up with a reasonable number.
My caloric intake when I put my numbers into the equation manually (google bmr equation or go to someplace like wikipedia) I came up with something like ~2,033 and when I plugged it into an online bmr calculator I came up with like ~2,050. So they were pretty damn close if I recall correctly.
Try that, and no I do not know the equation off hand.Fitness Journal:

The Harris-Benedict equation for BMR:
For men: (13.75 x w) + (5 x h) - (6.76 x a) + 66
For women: (9.56 x w) + (1.85 x h) - (4.68 x a) + 655
w = weight in kg
h = height in cm
a = age

None of them are all that accurate as everyone's metabolism is different. Use the result of a BMR equation as a starting point, and begin experimenting what is working best for you to achieve the best progress possible for the goal you want to achieve.
