calories/training
my life is getting a little crazy lately so my training routine is going to change. i am going to be doing weight training, full body 3x per week and hiit cardio and abs on the days im not lifting. i currently eat 1500-1600 calories a day...my question is should i eat more calories on a weight training day than on cardio/ab day? if i should, how much of a difference should there be?

I don't see any reason why you really need to up your cals. Do you mean carb cycling?

no not carb cycling...i was thinking that i'd be burning more calories (ie: need more fuel) on lifting days rather than cardio days so i may need to eat more on one day than the other (ex: weight training day 1600 cal vs. cardio/ab day 1400 cal.) thats just an example no concrete numbers.

Maintenance then Post Shake?
When I was trying to Gain some lean muscle I would eat my Maintenance Calories on lifting days, but just ADD a recovery shake..So I guess It was like Maintenance + 290 cals? = 1690 cals..
I'm 5"4' and 109 myself, so I imagine where about the same. I could never get lean at that calorie rance it seemed, well Lean yes, but not ripped. I had to throw a couple LOW 1100 cals in there here and there with some cardio to keep the hard tummy and still be able to pump the legs.
You look pretty damn lean though, your tummy is flatter than mine for sure!
Hey if you figure out how to get your abs even leaner, let a fellow Shortie know!! If I dont get abs by 28 I'll freak!! lol. I'm 26 now..tick tock tick..

Hard to advise on any of this unless we know what your goal is. Are you bulking, maintaining or cutting?

thanks...i've gone as low as 1200 calories but alot of great ladies here helped me realize thats too low. i'm not quite as lean as i'd like to be in the tummy area (still have little rolls when i sit...yuck!) but i'm in the best shape that i ever have been so i guess i really should'nt complain

i guess you could say i'm cutting...i'm comfortable with my size (never thought i'd hear my self say that!) i just want to see more defination. i know when figuring out calories you have to consider activity as well so i wasnt sure if i need more on days i'm weight training in comparison to a cardio day.
p.s. sometimes i have a hard time explaining in words what i'm thinking in my head

I think with an added protein/maintenance shake you should be fine on hard training days.
