If you have a good diet & exercise plan, you won't need to worry about using a fat burner and if it is bad or not for you.

Some fat burners have something called guggl something. I'm sure someone else will know the full name. There are a couple of threads about them which you should read about their adverse effects on some people. Search for them.

    I don't think they're bad, I just think they're a tremendous waste of money.

Fat burners have their place in proper diet (aka cutting) programs.

Here is the skinny of it:
Your body quickly adapts to its surroundings - especially with things like diet and exercise. Eventually, all the dieting and exercising cause weight loss to simply vanish. You can break through this plateau 2 ways - go on a metabolism reset for 2 weeks - not loosing or gaining weight during that period, or start taking fat burners (e.g. thermo) to push your body into a higher metabolic state. After 3-4 weeks on thermo, your body adapts to this, and thus, you need to stop it all together, the lack of which lowers your metabolism and slows down fat loss. A month off a month back on again. Overall you will end up loosing more fat using this method then the other method using 1 month diet 2 weeks reset.

However, thermo is not for everyone. If you have pre-existing conditions - especially related to blood pressure and heart sensitivity, either omit it all together, stick to something mild such as a few extra bits of coffee or green tea, or talk with your doctor to see what they recommend. I would recommend talking with your doctor in any case before starting any type of diet and exercise program.

The problem with that is, very few "fat burners" are really thermogenic (or thermogenic to the point of making a difference). For every $30 bottle you buy, you're probably buying $29 of b.s. And I've tried almost all of them. Hell, still have a bottle of Lipo6 in the cupboard.

Talking fat burners are essential if you want to maximise weight loss

even if a normal calorie restrictive diet is followed, the body doesnt have enough capability to consume fat as energy. Ingredients such as willow bark and garcinia are great for speeding up the process. Hope you kept/keeping your branch chain amino acids high up there, these play very specific roles in fat loss!
