Can someone please tell me how much protein a body can use at a serving ? I see some articles saying your body cannot use more then 40gm of protein at a time adn anything else will just go to waste , while other say your body can utilize up to 60gm's of protein before maxing out. I see guys say they are on 300+ gm's a day which means they are taking 50 -60 gm's per meal.
Is there a set fact here on the Bodybuilding.com newsgroups about how much you can take each serving. I eat 5-6 times a day and need to take in at least 225-275gm's of protein a day. Im worried that I am wasting the protein if I go over 40 grams per meal.
Any advice or comments are appreciated.
Thanks Ahead,

I've always had the "40 grams at a time" theory in the back of my head. But, if you are consuming a blend, and some of the blend is made up of the slower digesting proteins, your body would not be using it all at once anyway. Also, do you normally guzzle your entire shake in a minute, or drink it over the course of maybe 15-20min or more?
Anyhow, I range anywere from 30-50 per shake. After my workouts my first shake is normally 40grams whey with carbs. An hour or more later I'll either eat a lean protein meal with complex carbs or have another shake consisting some slower digesting proteins (casein, milk isolate, etc.).
I'm 6ft, 205lbs, 16-18% (not great, I know).
