My short-term term goal would be to lose 62 lbs by September 1, 2007.
That would be 15 weeks from now.
I am sitting now at 302 lbs.
So was just wondering, is this a possible goal or should I scratch it and write down a new one.
Thanks
Also, advices are more than welcome.

I don't know brother, 62lbs in 15 weeks... over 4lbs a week with no room for lapses...
If you go for it, it's an admirable goal and you've got my best wishes on it, but I just don't know how healthy or feasible it would be."The question is not how far. The question is, do you possess the constitution, the depth of faith, to go as far as is needed?" - Il Duce, Boondock Saints

4lbs a week... that's unhealthy. If you lose that much, you're going to stress your body and most likely get sick or something of that sort.
Your metabolism will dip down so low as soon as you stop dieting you'll gain a lot of fat.
Aim for 2lbs MAX. Why do you have to lose so much so fast?member of the 1000lb club (ya rly)

i voted yes, because we all need something to strive for. at 300lbs, i honestly believe weight will come down faster than if you were say 200lbs and looking to cut. big goals can be motivating and give you something to really reach for, but they are only beneficial when you dont let them bring you down if you arent meeting expectations.
i say dream big and work hard! if by september 1st you weigh 270 instead of 240, thats still one hell of an improvement.*********DISCOUNT CODES********* save money and support bodybuilding.com!

I started three weeks ago at a very fat 5' 10" and 300 lbs. I've lost 31 pounds in that time on a very strict very low carb diet but I've been an irratable bastard.
Most of that innitial weight loss was due to water loss and a drastic decrease in sodium intake combined with a drastic increase in activity.
I'd say it's very possible but what I've been doing can't be the most healthy way to do it and I'm in the process of re-working my daily diet.
I've been a notorious yo-yo dieter and I'd say from my experiences you want to do something to lose weight that won't make you snap back and end up worse than where you started.
Compare our progress pictures, you and I were about the same size and build so my experiences might help you out some.
My advice, take it slower. It's not a race it's a life-style. I'm in the process of slowing it down and taking a more healthy approach that will probably make my family and co-workers happier too.Last edited by lil_how_how; 05-21-2007 at 04:12 PM.

Thanks for all the comments and suggestion.
After careful consideration, I guess that 62 lbs would be too much of a strech.
Ok, so I am going for 45lbs minimum, but will be trying to reach 50 lbs by september 1rst.
Than my second goal is to reach 215 lbs by the end of December since I planned on going back to Vegas.
Thanks again to everyone that voted and posted their comments. My journal:

Personally I beleive that you would be losing a bit quickly. However, if that is your goal and that's what you really want to reach for by September 1 - go for it.
Why don't you try and get down to 250lbs by the middle of September (say the 14th)? It isn't that much less to lose and it is only 2 weeks longer. I also think you should start working out more instensly more often as you lose weight as you will start to lose weight at a slower rate as you get closer to your goal weight. I'd also make sure you are having sufficient amounts of protein to try and maintain muscle over the weight loss period.
Good luck!
