The reason you raise the bar unevenly is not because 1 arm is stronger than the other. You have muscle imbalances in your assistance & stabilizer muscles. (Eg: with bench one of your limiting factors in how much you can lift is how strong your rotator cuff muscles are.) If they(rotator cuff muscles) are not proportionally strong enough as compred to your close(14" grip) grip bench you will get stuck at a plateau or progress very slowly.
In other words. Learn to train ALL muscle groups. Even the little ones.
