How many grams of protein do you need.....

    while cutting?

I eat 1800 calories per day and about 180g(40%) of the calories are protein and 180g of the calories are carbs.

Do I really need that much protein in a day? If I stick to 1g of protein per body weight, should the rest of the calories just come from carbs and some of them from fat?

when cutting you should get more of you calories from protein than normal, there should be an increase to help maintain muscle, at least 1.5 when cutting, closer to 2 would be better though.

50 to 60 percent should come from your carbs and you should try to consume 2 grams of protein per pound trying to cut. At least 1 to 2 grams of protein per pound, but 2 is better.
