Post How important are Protein Shakes in the morning or during rest?

Just wondering because on off days i like never take my protein shakes. I also never take them in the morning...only before and after workout. Does this alter my progress a bit?

    Yes TONS!
You need protein as much on off days as much as days you work out because you muscles are growing. And The mornings are important because your body hasn't had protein in 8 or so hours (sleeping) and if you dont take any it wont have any for atleast another couple hours.

So what should I have for breakfast?

    Protein Shake
    2 egg wholes
    2 egg whites
    bowl of oatmeal
    2 cups of milk
    banana

Thats what I would usually eat excet without the shake...btw do I have to wait 30 minutes after consuming my shake to eat...since eating other foods slows down the absorbtion of protein?

whey gets absorbed fast, and will be out of your system quickly. thats why you need slower absorbing protein (casein) to supply your body throughout your day

Whey is good in the mornings, regardless of whether it's an off-day or not. You're extremely catabolic first thing in the morning, and need something that'll get absorbed fast - like a whey protein shake.

Then for a real breakfast, make sure to include eggs (watch how many yolks you're eating) and a carb source like oatmeal or cereal.
