Pro Cards

What is the deal with procards and what are the requirements? I feel like a complete moron for asking but hey, no way to learn if I don't ask. Can you win a pro card in your second show?

You can win a pro card in your first show. The show you compete in has to be a qualifying show though. When you look up information on the contests, they will state whether or not it is a pro qualifying event.

To begin with, the said show must be a Pro Qualifier. You must first win your "open" weight class and that will automatically put you in the "overall" round at the end of the said show, where you will go up against the other "open" weight class winner's and compete for the overall title (pro card). I do not believe that it matter's how many show's you have done.

Techinically, in the NPC, you cannot win your pro card in your first show. You can only win your card at Nationals, Team Universe or North Americans---those are all national shows. In order to qualify to compete nationally, you must win a local or regional show that is a national qualifier (or place in the top 2---depends on the guidelines). So I guess you could go pro in your SECOND show....qualify to nationals at the first show then win the overall (or height class for Nationals) and then you get your Pro Card.

Post Depends...

It depends on the federation. For example, you may have to earn your way to compete in a pro qualifier, then you may have to win overall open.

Check the different federations to see what they require.

Alrighty, thats pretty much what I thought. The show I competed in was a pro-qualifier and the next one I am doing is going to be a qualifier as well. I am training all summer for it and am going to give that pro-card a run for it's money. By the grace of God, I'll be able to pull it off in my second show. Thanks for the input guys. You are all clutch!

No you can win your pro card in your first NANBF show, which then means you can compete in the WNBF, which is the pro division of the NANBF.

Anyone in the top 5 of their weight class at the Natural Northern USA is qualified for the NPC Team Universe which is the ONLY NPC national drug tested contest. The winner of the TU receives their IFBB Pro Card. I don't know what other shows qualifies one to compete at TU.
