do i need cardio??
Hey I have an average build (6"4, 182) and i wish to bulk up. So I eat lots of calories to build muscle but I do not do cardio. Would cardio get me rid of my gut even though I eat a surplus of calories? Should I add cardio in my workout? Eat more on these days or less? When I run, I burn fat right? If not, why would I even consider cardio when bulking up?

Is that a hard-set rule? Why? As long as you eat sufficient additional calories to make up for those burned, what's the difference? Or is this just because you don't like doing cardio?

if you get additional calories to offset the burned ones, what would be the purpose of cardio then? would it still burn fat?

You are much more likely to lose muscle from not eating enough than you are from doing too much cardio, include some form of cardio, it healthy and increases your metabolism to burn more fat. You only need to eat 500 calories over your maintenance calories to gain muscle. you will spends longer doing cardio to burn all the excess fat off if you overeat. Keep cardio to a minimum. 3 x 30 mins even HIIT a week is enough. 90 mins of cardio a week will not burn alot of fat. as long as you don't do extensive cardio you be fine and do the cardio after weights not before or on another day.

Yep, right on. I am an example. I put on too much fat in Feb-Mar-Apr by avoiding cardio...while also losing a tad bit of endurance...
my recommendation from experience:
do cardio while bulking...just not as much as during other phases.

In the fall I was doing a ludacris amount of cardio a day and occasionally still managed to gain weight. I was not using any supps (except multi) and my diet was not nearly as clean and tidy as it is now, but I was for the most part very healthy and I was able to put on weight, while cutting and doing massive amounts of cardio.
I guess it really depends on your metabolism and diet mostly, putting weight on has not really been a huge issue for me ever, getting rid of it and keeping it off on the other hand...

cardio is good whether cutting or bulking, manipulate your diet to make up for the calories burned if you want to, but dont remove cardio, its great for your overall health and comes in handy when you try to cut and all of a sudden u cant jog 10 feet without losing your breath

Was the weight you put on mostly muscle? That's the thing I'm confused about regarding cardio on a bulk...I have no problem eating enough calories to make up for those burned during cardio, but if you are doing lots of cardio are a lower proportion of your excess calories converted to muscle than if just lifting?
