    How many sets do you do for your chest?

    I was reading another thread and saw people saying all they did was 4-6sets for their chest. What the...... I do 8-10 sets in total. You guys?

    I do 6. I think 10 sets is too much. After 6 sets my chest is beat. I do heavy incline DB and BB. Sometimes dips.

    WTF

    I do 3 sets weighted dips. As much as i can handle for 6-8. Then flat bench failing at about 6reps. Then incline for 3 sets and my chest wants to explode. I don't see how 6 sets is enough.

    i only do 5 and my chest is sore for days afterwards. 2 sets of incline 4-6 reps, (i generally stay at 4), then 3 sets of flat barbell bench, 4-6 reps. but ya id say u dont need nemore then 6. most ppl do 2 incline, 2 flat, 2 decline or 2 sets of dips.

    normally i do 6-9 sets, made up of flat bench, incline bench, and flys. Today I lowered weight a bit to try to sort out my form to evade some houlderpain i allways get, so i took the time to do it a bit different - i did 4 sets flat DB bench, 3 sets incline DB, 2 sets flys, then one more set flat, then some hard chest stretching too.

    But normally I will probably do like 8 sets, but it depends if chest is all im doing that day.

    HIT would suggest one set is enough if you go to absolute total failure. Micro-damage done to muscle fibres will not be increased very much at all by doing a second set of this nature.

    1 set incline dumbbell presses: 6-8 reps

    1 set flat dumbbell bench: 6-8 reps

    Have you ever tried doing less sets? Perhaps raise the intensity, push more weight, less rest etc...

    I've found my very best results come from 9 sets on my chest
    3 sets of flat DB press
    3 sets of incline DB press
    3 sets of weighted dips

    You do those 3 exercises with enough intensity and you should DEFINETLY be able to feel it the next day.

    or maybe you and BlueMarlin could start a more is better club
