Any good starter guides or books you'd reccomend?

I'm probably a bit old to start powerlifting (28) but I'd like to increase my strength. More strength = more weight = get bigger.

So I wanted to ask the experts if there were any good starter guides out there.

Thanks for your help.

Get Science and Practice of Strength Training by Vladimir M. Zatsiorsky if you are willing to really study and get a good base of understanding down. Becoming good is learning how to train your body not taking someone workout and using it for yourself. You body will respond better if you know how to design workouts for it. I sometimes use workouts others have designed but many times with modifications because I understand more how my body will respond.

Starting Strength & Practical Programming from Mark Rippetoe are the most accessible ones.

Science and Practice of Strength Training by Vladimir M. Zatsiorsky is also a good book.

Good luck.
