Yeah so you just position your toes closest to your body with the pad resting on the lower quad, and flex hard at the top for about 2 seconds? Do ya do these flexes for all movements?

When doing the seated raise:
After completing the contraction (plantar flexion) then evert (lift the outside of the foot up) your feet. It is like twisting (supinating) the DB's during DB curls.

I will definitely start tring this. You have great calves and if it works for you maybe it will for me

It certainly can't hurt. The muscles that evert/invert the feet are often neglected.

Because you will never learn that way. What good is spoon feeding you every freaking answer.
"Lift your calves and twist them?" That makes no sense. Why don't you actually learn the correct anatomical terms for movement. I'm sorry if I use correct terms and big words in hopes that those reading can advance their knowledge.

Ill start doin it just seems it would be extremly difficult to lift your outter toe when the weight is stacked against it along with the big toe hurting from the weight. But thats just my 2 cents.

derek your going to tell me nobody ever told you anything about bodybuilding at all??? when you asked a question to maybe a bigger person did he give you this wise ass remark saying youll never learn if i spoon feed you?? not all of us are hardcore bodybuilders some are just trying to learn a little bit and thats what these boards are here for to ask questions with other people. What if everybody gave answers that made you learn? you wouldnt learn anything in school and people would get nowhere.

I suggest you look into buying a dictionary and an anatomy book. I freaking said plantar flexion + eversion. I answered the question. Quit being lazy. Most of what I know I learned from my own research and experiences. I'm sorry if you had to run a google search.

Is there a reason that you prefer eversion over inversion? Or is it apples and oranges?
-
Big Pimpin'
The muscles we are trying to work (ex tibialis anterior) are on the lateral (outside) of the leg. Inversion would stretch them when we want to contract them. Inverting the foot would indeed hit some muscles, so from a functional standpoint it would be beneficial. Good question btw.

Okay so the soleus is also on the lateral side of the leg, so I assume one should evert their feet when working that muscle as well? How about the gastrocnemius though? It's pretty balanced laterally/medially, so do you perform any special functions when doing them?
-
Big Pimpin'
Both the soleus and gastrocnemius cover the posterior leg and perform plantar flexion. The soleus is deep (underneath) the gastroc.

I feel so...so ...sorry for you....since when is eversion such a big word? If you dont understand it, learn it...if you dont want to...dont expect people to go through the trouble and dummy it for you. Thats what the teen board is for.

Busting out big words might be a good way to get people to learn, but its unnecessary. I doubt anyone would appreciate it much if I used the proper genus and species names for every food item listed in any nutritional advice I gave. It is rediculous.
Why not just break it down so most of us can understand you the first time?
